You Won’t Believe What We Found in the Attic…

I’ve been coming up here for years, but it still stops me in my tracks.

At some point, instead of tearing off the old roof, they built a new one over it. Then apparently did it again. And maybe again.

So up in the attic of our 100+ year old bakery are layers of old roofs, cedar shakes, and bits of history that have been hiding above our heads for decades.

It’s easy to forget how many people came before us. Different owners. Different bakers. Different generations all working under the same roof.

Well… roofs.

Most people come for the pastries, the cinnamon rolls, the pies, the buttercake…..

Meanwhile, there’s over a century of bakery history sitting right above the ceiling tiles.
