GTP is here to tap, nurture and promote Gambian Talents and culture from around the world as well as inform, educate and entertain Gambians through those talents. Gambian Talents Promotion is a nonprofit online Public Broadcasting Network who is here to tap, nurture and promote Gambian Talents and culture from around the world as well as inform, educate and entertain Gambians especially through th

e internet. We opened our office in The Gambia in late 2017 and since our primary focus is the youths, our office is managed 100% by young people under the age of 35. Since then, we have equally trained and mentored over 100 young people in the area of Graphic design, Web design, Videography, Public Speaking, Marketing and journalism. We train “backway” returnees, school dropouts and/or students of the University of The Gambia (UTG) and/or other tertiary institutions with little or no practical knowledge in the above fields. Since our inception in 2006, through partnership with several organizations, individuals, companies and promoters around the world, we created the platform for several Gambian Musicians to travel abroad notably to the US, UK and Scandinavia. In 2008, we organized the first Gambian Talents Award during which we recognized and honored talented Gambians in 18 different Categories including music, sports, literally art, fine art, radio and TV personnel just to name a few.Over the years, we have spread our wings and grown from being only promoters of Gambian Talents and culture and turned into a full-fledged nonprofit online Public broadcasting network whose mandate is to educate, inform and entertain Gambians both home and abroad. Our readership, viewers and followers have rapidly grown, thanks to the quality programs, news and activities we present on a daily basis. Gambians and friends of The Gambia in the diaspora form 60% of our followers while Gambians in The Gambia form the other 40% . This is changing rapidly as a result of the new dispensation and easier access to internet. A lot of Gambians in The Gambia were hesitant to engage with the online media due to the political climate of the country at the time. With the new dispensation, our following in The Gambia is rapidly increasing. It is also important to note that a lot of Gambians in the diaspora rely on us greatly to get news, current affairs and happenings in and about The Gambia. On the other hand, Gambians back home rely on us to connect with their families abroad and abreast themselves with current happenings and trendy news from and about Gambians around the world. Our social media pages have a combined following of over 2 hundred thousand and average about 5 million to 12 million people reach/month while our website reaches about 6 hundred thousand to 1 million monthly visits. INTRODUCING FORMER DJ AND RAPPER "T-WEET"

Seattle, Washington, Politics isn't the only stage for Talib Ahmed Bensouda. It turns out he has been holding a microphone long before entering politics—something many Gambians may not know.

Wa Jollof! Did you know that the presidential aspirant and Mayor of KMC once worked as a part-time DJ and was also a rapper?

During the United Movement for Change (UMC) Gala Dinner in Seattle yesterday, the evening's MC, Sariang Marong, surprised many in attendance by introducing Bensouda as someone who worked as a part-time DJ while studying and working in Canada before returning to The Gambia to establish his own business.

That introduction prompted a question during an exclusive interview with Pa Ousman Joof of Gambian Talents TV.

"Tell us about your DJ career."

Bensouda smiled and explained that although he worked as a DJ, he never had a DJ name. However, he did have a rap name.

When asked what that rap name was, he answered with a smile:

"T-weet."

Naturally, the next question followed:

"What does 'T-weet' mean?"

Bensouda laughed but declined to reveal the meaning, choosing to keep that chapter of his life a mystery.

So, before the campaign posters, policy debates, and coalition negotiations, there was another side of Talib Ahmed Bensouda—one that involved music, entertainment, and a stage name many Gambians are probably hearing for the very first time.

Who knows? Maybe somewhere in Canada there are still people who remember "T-weet" long before he became a mayor and presidential aspirant.

One thing is certain: Gambians continue to discover new chapters in the story of a man seeking to lead the country. Bensouda shared this part of his journey with humility and good humor, giving supporters a glimpse into a lesser-known side of his life.

The full exclusive interview with Talib Ahmed Bensouda, conducted by Pa Ousman Joof of Gambian Talents TV, will air on Monday at 6:00 p.m. Gambian time. Don't miss it!

ALHAJI MOMODOU LAMIN JABBIE HONOURED AT HISTORIC MOSQUE INAUGURATION IN CÔTE D’IVOIRE

Alhaji Momodou Lamin Jabbie, popularly known as Dua Jabbie and the Imam of Foni Besse in The Gambia, has been honoured with a prominent ceremonial role at the inauguration of the Dabadougou Central Mosque in Côte d’Ivoire, where organisers say he became the first foreign Islamic scholar to preside over the installation of the mosque's Imam.

The historic ceremony, held in Dabadougou, about 700 kilometres from Abidjan, brought together thousands of worshippers, Islamic scholars, traditional leaders, government officials and community representatives from across Africa and beyond to celebrate the opening of the newly constructed central mosque.

According to organisers, Imam Jabbie was invited as a distinguished international guest in recognition of his contribution to Islamic scholarship and his role in promoting peace, unity and religious education in The Gambia.

During the ceremony, he was given the honour of leading the crowning and installation of the Imam of the newly inaugurated mosque.

Organisers described the occasion as the first time a foreign Islamic scholar had been entrusted with such a responsibility in Côte d’Ivoire.

The recognition was widely viewed as a significant milestone for Imam Jabbie and a reflection of the growing respect for Gambian Islamic scholarship across the West African region.

The inauguration attracted prominent Islamic scholars, government officials, traditional authorities and religious leaders from several countries, who joined thousands of worshippers in marking the occasion.

Speaking after the ceremony, Alhaji Momodou Lamin Jabbie thanked Allah for granting him the opportunity to participate in what he described as a memorable and historic event.

He dedicated the honour to the people of The Gambia, particularly the Muslim community of Foni Besse, saying their prayers and continued support had inspired his service.

He also prayed for greater unity among Muslims and expressed hope that the Dabadougou Central Mosque would serve as a centre for worship, Islamic education, peace and community development for generations to come.

"UMC WILL NOT JOIN ANY COALITION JUST TO UNSEAT BARROW" TALIB AHMED BENSOUDA

Bensouda: UMC Will Only Join a Coalition Built on Shared Vision, Not Just to Unseat Barrow

Seattle, Washington — The Party leader of the Unite Movement for Change (UMC), Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda, has said his party will not join any political coalition formed solely to remove President Adama Barrow from office, insisting that any alliance must be founded on a shared vision, common principles, and a long-term plan for governing the country.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Pa Ousman Joof of Gambian Talents Promotion during UMC's first event in Seattle, Bensouda said he has no regrets about the 2016 coalition that brought opposition parties together to defeat former President Yahya Jammeh.

According to Bensouda, the objective of the 2016 coalition was clear, to end Jammeh's rule and restore democracy—and that objective was achieved.

"I have no regrets about 2016," he said, explaining that the political circumstances at the time were unique. However, he stressed that today's political environment is different and that he would not support a coalition created simply for the sake of removing the current president.

"If I join any coalition, it has to be with people whose vision aligns with ours," he said, adding that UMC is committed to building a coalition capable of delivering lasting reforms rather than a short-term political arrangement that could quickly collapse.

Bensouda revealed that UMC is currently engaged in discussions with several political parties with whom their mission aligns but declined to disclose their identities, saying the conversations are ongoing.

Reacting to recent comments by the UDP leadership that the party would only participate in a coalition it leads, Bensouda said the UDP is within their rights and are entitled to their position. However, he made it clear that he does not support an approach where one party dictates the terms of a coalition.

Instead, he argued that all parties should come to the negotiating table as equals and work together to build consensus. If such consensus cannot be reached, he said, each party should be free to go on their own.

Bensouda also cautioned political leaders against forming separate negotiating blocs during coalition discussions, warning that such an approach could complicate the process and make it more difficult to reach a meaningful agreement.

The UMC leader emphasized that any future coalition should be carefully structured, transparent, and based on a common vision for The Gambia's future rather than political expediency.

The full exclusive interview with Talib Ahmed Bensouda will air on Monday at 6pm Gambian time on Gambian Talents TV (Facebook and YouTube.)
