We have lost one of our own, dear Tammy Cooper.
Tammy and her husband, Chuck, had been long-time customers and friends of Charlie's, and one day Tammy happened to mention that she had left her previous employer. We didn't hesitate to offer her a server position, and as expected, she fit in perfectly with the Charlie's staff. Tammy was always a ray of sunshine when she came through the door, making sure to say hello to all of her coworkers before starting her shift, asking how everyone was doing. If anyone came in on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday for a late lunch or for dinner, you surely knew who Tammy was. We were surprised when Tammy told us she was going to need some time off due to facing some health issues. All of us were praying for the best, and it was a hard hit to learn that she in fact had cancer. But Tammy's positive attitude and fighting spirit gave us all hope that she would pull through, beat cancer, and return to Charlie's. Every time one of us spoke with her, she talked about how she couldn't wait to come back to work. Sadly, things did not go as we all had hoped and prayed, and we lost our friend and coworker earlier this week on Monday evening. Thankfully, it happened peacefully at home with her family, just as Tammy had wanted. Tammy had many regular customers with whom she was close. She loved everyone here, and it certainly showed. We will miss her dearly.
