Cheers to a night celebrating THREE Des Moines People's Choice Wins with our team! We are so grateful to our customers for voting for us, believing in us and supporting us.

It's not lost on us that we are in MADRID, many many miles from Des Moines. We know that there are far more skilled and lauded chefs, cooks, restaurateurs in the area... So as the owner of this little business in this little town, I feel the weight of imposter syndrome daily -- it's viral to my life, no matter how hard I try to avoid it.

But I'm honored to have built a business that serves the community we live in and beyond. Every time a new customer proclaims "This is the best sandwich I've ever eaten!", I'm reminded that we've still got it. And we keep making it better and better.

But to date, one of my proudest accomplishments still is creating a place where people really actually like to come to work. Where the genuine happiness of our employees is infectious and radiates to the customers we serve.

And I'm happy that we really actually like each other and we have the best time celebrating our wins together. What a night, what a team. 🥰

We have some exciting news to share. We won Des Moines People's Choice Best Sandwich and Best Breakfast for the second year, and the first year, we won Best Lunch Spot.

We have a LOT of feelings when we get these honors -- humbled, thrilled, filled with imposter syndrome, excited, proud, and mostly, so happy that YOU helped us get here. We're lucky gals, getting to serve good food to good people daily and that's always taken up a few notches when there's proof that what we're serving is truly loved so much that you've taken time to vote for us. We truly appreciate everything you do for us.
