What a sendoff! Thank you to everyone for coming by this past week. It was so wholesome to see familiar faces from over the years and to hear your stories of your fondest memories at Monkey King Tea over the past decade. Thank you everyone for your kind messages and kind words, orders and gifts. ♥️ (Let us know if you still need a Crew Neck or Hoodie. We plan on having more merch for the holidays.)

The time has come for us to pass on the torch to the next new small business coming in. The new owners are excited to share their foods and drinks with you all. Head over to for more updates on menu offerings and official opening date! Give them a follow and say Monkey King sent you. 😉

**BREAKING NEWS (update as of 10/18): The time has come … the end of an era … our last day of service will be Saturday, 10/26/2024. We know this is sudden and wish that it wasn’t as abrupt as it has turned out to be. We hope to see you at Monkey King Tea one last time before then. Thank you for all the memories, MKT fans! I’ll leave a notebook or sticky notes out at the store if you want to leave us any messages with your fave mems at MKT - we’d love to hear them. Keep in touch - I’ll be more active on my personal page after with more of my own art, food recs and who knows - maybe some pop ups. More details to come about the next new biz owners.**

2020: 2020 sucked. There I said it. We were so amped to reopen with a newly trained team and barely a month later COVID hit. Everything shut down. When there was a silver lining, we started serving takeout from our window (no indoor dining), but things were not the same. Even after things did go back to “normal” we never had the big grand reopening we had planned. Like many, we experienced loss 🕊️ that year and one very special person who taught us to chase dreams, do things the right way, always celebrate holidays with loved ones and have some fun & laughs along the way. We received some of the best notes from our MKT fans - you made us feel warm & fuzzy and kept us laughing.

2019: Dragged on forever… slow progress but progress nonetheless. We did a lot of behind-the-scenes work to bring the vision to life. From picking out materials for the build, revising layouts & the menu, testing recipes, drawing out the mural (pencil to paper; paint to wall; all hand done, baby!) and figuring how to manage two little ones. There was a lot happening, but none that the public could see.

2018-2019: Wrapped up a great year. Baby #2 ready to knock down some more walls for Phase III (finally!). With reno going on, I decided to use this time to enroll in a pastry certificate program . I’ve always enjoyed learning and thrived in an academic environment, so it was fun learning the technical skills of baking. We wanted to inspire our kids to chase their dreams (thank you to our village support from fam & friends & kind ppl). [PSA: For moms trying to do it all, know that you are not alone and there are people willing to help. Please take care of yourself. Fam & friends, check in on one another ♥️]

Year 2016: One roller coaster of a year. This year tested my strength - physically, emotionally and mentally. I brought life into the world and I experienced great personal loss of a loved one. MKT was bustling with energy thanks to an irreplaceable all-star team.

1: OG Plus Team. So proud of ya’ll wherever you are. Doctors, designers, nurses, engineers, CPAs, managers, artists, developers and so on… you started here and look at you now. Thank you for your time here. MKT4LYFE ✌🏼

Year 2015: On our way to becoming our own, cafe, in Phase 2. Looking back, we could have combined Phase II & III, but we were working with limited $$$, so we were building a dream in little steps. The space was created with love & care, time & dedication.

6: One of our last customers of Phase I. One of the first OG food trucks to break into the Boston scene, who also started from humble beginnings. Treating their team with some MKT!
