Where We’re From

The name Common John wasn’t born in a boardroom. It came from the dirt, the music, and the magic of Bonnaroo.

Back in 2017, standing in the crowd at the Miller Lite stage, we heard Creature Comfort play Common John. That song has a line—“just a Common John, diggin’ holes in the dirt”—and something about it hit different. It stuck with us. It felt like who we were: grounded, honest, a little worn in, and proud of it.

That moment planted a seed. And from there, it grew into Common John Brewing Company.

We’re not just from Manchester—we’re from Bonnaroo. This place and this festival are in our blood. So when you see our name on a can or a pint, know that it carries the spirit of that field, that show, and that shared experience under the Tennessee sky.

We’re honored to have beer flowing at Roo again this year. If you’re headed out there, grab a Heathen Child or Nuclear Fusion and raise it high.
