12 years ago, I was sitting in a hot, dusty chemical plant, wearing flame resistant clothes, earplugs, safety glasses, steel toed boots, and a hardhat. I knew that none of this personal protective equipment could actually save me from an explosion. Feeling helpless I started writing in a notebook to devise a plan to get out. I would listen to every self-help and motivational audiobook during my long commute to and from work for two years. I realized I was stuck in the rat race trading my time and safety for money. One day as I was leaving the job site in Beaumont Texas. I noticed a huge mushroom cloud in the rearview mirror of my company truck. A portion of the plant did indeed explode and catch fire not too far from where our pile driving crew was working. With chills and goosebumps, running up my body I pulled off the highway to call our crew. Luckily, everyone was OK. But that was the moment that I committed to freeing myself from a fiery uncertainty. You see, I was actually the safety officer, but I had absolutely no control over the inner workings of that plant. It took me a few more months of planning before I felt confident enough in my plan to start a new company in my hometown. I left a good company with a great boss because I had an important dream. I wanted to bring something special to the community I was so privileged to grow up in. I would have a chance to be my own boss and provide a quality product to people that would appreciate it. Not only would the fresh, whole food ingredients be good for the health of future customers, but the side effects would increase muscle mass and lower body fat. Eating this way was not new to me, but I soon met many people that needed these products and the help that I could provide.
My business plan was naïve at best. I had no idea the type of cash flow getting the word out would require. In my first year, two remarkable people also believed in my dream. Neither one of them seek recognition, and I hope that they do not mind being mentioned here. But I feel that I must thank them publicly. They are the reason my dream did not die in its first year! Not only have they allowed me to improve the health of thousands of Northshore residence, but I have been able to put a roof over my head for over nine years. Your contribution to my dream will never be forgotten and I will be forever grateful. Thank you for blessing me and the community that I love Robert Coles and Gina Groh!
To anyone that desperately wants to get out of the rat race, I urge you to start with a plan. No matter how insufficient it may be, try and do the right thing. Because you never know when God will send amazing people to help you make it through the tough times. Thank you dearly to everyone who has purchased one of my products. You have helped put a roof over my head and food in my child’s mouth. I hope that I can continue to serve you for many years to come. Ryan Miller
