meet my parents! both small business owners. let me tell you a little about both of them. neither of them know a stranger. both of their jobs give them opportunities to meet new people regularly and they both have a gift for being intentional. both of them are two of the hardest working people you will ever meet in your life, both extremely talented and extremely humble. my dad is the funniest person in the room and has an incredible skill at making people feel seen. my mom can makes friends with anyway and is so good at seeing the person and loving them exactly as they are. they are the most supportive people and will drop everything to just be there.
when i told them i was thinking about opening a business, they never once made me doubt my decision. they showed up in any way they could (my mom has even put together some of the salads)! i truly could not be prouder to be their daughter and could not be more blessed with the parents i was given.
so here’s to them 🥂

i took this photo the first time i saw our signs up back before our doors were open. as the other business owners know, there is the moment of “what am i getting myself in to” many time in the beginning stages of opening a business. but there’s moments like this one where you just stop and take a step back and feel so much pride in what you’ve built. again, manhattan, thank you for helping me build something i am so proud of. i can remember standing there on 4th st staring up at my logo and feeling like my dreams were coming true. but without all of your support, the dream would’ve never happened. thank you for believing in my vision.

it is with a heavy heart that i announce the closing of input salad. this choice was not made lightly, but unfortunately, there are a few factors at work that make this decision the best for my current circumstances. manhattan has been such a special place for me to start my life and i feel so honored to have the opportunity to start my first business here. the experience of owning input has been one i will always be so thankful for. i have learned more than i ever thought possible and have had chances i couldn’t even imagine at my young age. first off, i would like to say thank you to my family for supporting me, encouraging me, and always challenging me to do hard things. thank you to my dear friends for being the best support system by checking in on me, engaging with all my social media, and buying from the shop anytime you were in town. thank you to the pie lady for being an incredible mentor and allowing me the chance to come alongside your business. thank you to the entire therapie crew for their incredible work ethics and willingness to help me whenever i needed. thank you to my rockstar employee, lindsey, for truly being one of a kind and helping run the show. thank you to the local business’s who shared my enthusiasm for supporting local and never hesitated to give a shoutout or offer encouragement. and thank you to my customer base for believing in my concept, taking a chance on me, and coming by consistently for your salad fix. input’s final day of business will be saturday, march 30th. We hope you’ll swing by! I will also be more than happy to prep custom orders if you want to ensure you get your favorite salad.
this space has truly been such a dream come true. i am sure input will come back in some capacity someday but for now mhk, it’s see you later. you’ll always have a piece of my heart.

figure after almost a year it’s time for a get to know me! here are some fun facts!
- i am 22 years old and have been in manhattan for the past 4.5 years, college brought me here!
- speaking of college, i studied nutrition at kstate!
- both my parents are small business owners which is where i gained part of my entrepreneurial spirit!
- i have a german shorthair dog named bourbon (he’s pictured in the next slide) and a big yellow cat named simon with my boyfriend, devan!
- my ideal weekend is a trip to the farmers market, shopping at local vintage shops, enjoying an iced latte from a little coffee shop, finished up with a concert!
- i love traveling and seeing new places and visiting other local restaurants/coffee shops!
- one of my favorite things to eat is steak!
- food is one of my biggest passions: whether it’s the science behind or cooking or everything in between… i’m always up for a chat about it!

we’ve got salad, yes we do, we’ve got salad how about you?

I had an event attendee say "I had no idea that you had non-dessert items!" And so, it is our privilege to share you about a lovely little spot- Input Salad and TheraPie. Located in Downtown MHK at 106 S 4th St.

On the pie side, we always have 2 savory slice options ready for grab-and-go or eating in our cozy little shop. We also keep an entire freezer stocked for you to shop for savory items to bake at home: Chicken Pot Pie (guarantee it will satisfy), Beef Pot Roast Pie, TV Dinners, Beef & Rutabaga Michigan Pasties, and more!
We also share this space with another small business- Input Salad . They have delicious fresh salads that are available to grab&go or to eat in house! They are all such a wonderful combination of flavors and the house-made dressings are delish!

Served with a house-made Lemon Poppy Seed Dressing.
