Job Readiness Training Update

We’re now in our second Job Readiness Training session, and we’ve truly enjoyed working with our newest group of participants!

Over the last two weeks, our trainees have been building valuable bakery skills by making pies, rolling cookies, and learning how to properly bloom yeast for cinnamon rolls. This week, they’ll take the next step by kneading, rolling, baking, and frosting cinnamon rolls from start to finish.

At Grandma Emma’s Bake Shop, we believe that hands-on experience builds confidence, independence, and job-ready skills. Every recipe is an opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

We’re also excited to announce a new hire here at Grandma Emma’s Bake Shop! She’s doing wonderfully and recently baked her very first banana bread with walnuts and chocolate chips. Watching new skills develop and seeing that sense of accomplishment is exactly why we do this work.

One of the greatest joys of this season of my life is having my grandchildren helping out at Grandma Emma’s Bake Shop.

Teaching them some of their Great-Great Grandma Emma’s recipes, sharing stories, and spending time together brings back so many wonderful childhood memories for me. There’s something special about passing down traditions, lessons, and a little bit of family history through food.

Moments like these remind me that success isn’t just measured in business growth—it’s measured in the memories we create and the legacy we leave behind.

Life has been good. ❤️
