After hosting hundreds of weddings, here are five guests we see couples regret inviting.
1. The obligation invites.
You know exactly who I’m talking about. The person you invited because you felt like you had to, and not because you actually wanted them there.
2. The “we used to be close” friend.
Maybe you were inseparable at one point. But if you haven’t talked in years, it’s okay to be honest about where that relationship stands today.
3. The unpredictable family member.
Every family has one. If you’re already worried about what they’re going to say or do on your wedding day, that’s probably worth paying attention to.
4. The random plus one.
Not every guest needs a plus one. Especially when you’re paying for every seat, every meal, and every drink.
5. The person who doesn’t support your relationship.
This one’s pretty simple. Your wedding day should be filled with people who are excited for your future together.
The biggest thing we’ve learned after hosting so many weddings is that the people in the room shape the experience far more than the details do, and that the best weddings aren’t always the biggest weddings. They’re the ones filled with the right people.
One of the things we love most about intimate weddings at Wildflower Estate is that couples can focus on celebrating with the people who matter most, not filling seats.
