After hosting hundreds of weddings, here are five guests we see couples regret inviting.

1. The obligation invites.
You know exactly who I’m talking about. The person you invited because you felt like you had to, and not because you actually wanted them there.

2. The “we used to be close” friend.
Maybe you were inseparable at one point. But if you haven’t talked in years, it’s okay to be honest about where that relationship stands today.

3. The unpredictable family member.
Every family has one. If you’re already worried about what they’re going to say or do on your wedding day, that’s probably worth paying attention to.

4. The random plus one.
Not every guest needs a plus one. Especially when you’re paying for every seat, every meal, and every drink.

5. The person who doesn’t support your relationship.
This one’s pretty simple. Your wedding day should be filled with people who are excited for your future together.

The biggest thing we’ve learned after hosting so many weddings is that the people in the room shape the experience far more than the details do, and that the best weddings aren’t always the biggest weddings. They’re the ones filled with the right people.

One of the things we love most about intimate weddings at Wildflower Estate is that couples can focus on celebrating with the people who matter most, not filling seats.

Want to know the fastest way to blow your wedding budget?

It’s probably not what you think. Most people assume it’s the flowers, the photographer, or maybe the dress.

But honestly? It’s usually the guest count.

Here’s why. Let’s say you add another 25 people to your wedding. You’re not just adding 25 meals. You’re adding 25 chairs, more tables, place settings, alcohol, rentals, and invitations.

And depending on your venue, sometimes that means changing the entire layout of the wedding. Before you know it, those extra guests have added thousands of dollars to the budget.

That’s why one of the first things we encourage couples to do is get really intentional about their guest list. Because your guest count affects almost every decision that comes after it. The venue, catering, rentals, and the overall experience.

We’ve seen couples trim their guest list by 20 people and suddenly have room in the budget for the photographer they really wanted, a better entertainment experience, or the upgrades they actually cared about. At the end of the day, most wedding budgets don’t get blown by one big decision. They get stretched little by little with every extra guest that’s added to the list.

If you’re planning a wedding and looking for a venue that’s designed for intentional celebrations of up to 100 guests, we’d love to show you around Wildflower Estate. Reach out to us at [email protected] 🤍

After hosting hundreds of weddings, we’ve realized it’s usually not the budget, the flowers, or even the guest count. It’s these five things!

1. A timeline with breathing room.
The best wedding days don’t feel rushed. There’s time for a drink during cocktail hour, an extra conversation with a guest, and a few quiet moments together.

2. A couple that’s actually present.
The couples who have the most fun aren’t worried about every little detail and they know that their energy sets the tone for the day. They trust their vendors, let go of the things they can’t control, and focus on enjoying the day.

3. Good flow.
Guests should naturally know where to go next. Ceremony to cocktail hour. Cocktail hour to reception. Reception to dancing. When a wedding flows well, nobody notices. When it doesn’t, everybody does.

4. Great vendors who work as a team.
The best weddings happen when everyone is working toward the same goal (for you to have the best day possible). Photographers, DJs, planners, caterers, florists, and venue staff. A great vendor team can make the entire day feel effortless.

5. A wedding that feels like the couple.
Not Pinterest. Not social media. Not what everyone else thinks a wedding should look like. The weddings guests remember most are the ones that feel personal and authentic.

At the end of the day, guests won’t remember every detail. They’ll remember how they felt.
And that’s usually the difference between a good wedding and a great one.

If you’re looking for a venue designed to help your day flow naturally from ceremony to last dance, we’d love to host your special day at Wildflower Estate!

We’ve noticed more and more couples choosing smaller weddings. After hosting hundreds of weddings, here are 5 reasons why

1. They actually get to spend time with their guests.
At a 250-person wedding, it’s easy to spend the entire night bouncing from table to table. With a smaller guest list, couples can have real conversations and actually enjoy the people they invited.

2. Less stress.
Fewer guests usually means fewer logistics, fewer opinions, and fewer things competing for your attention. And that often makes for a much more enjoyable wedding day.

3. More flexibility with the budget.
Instead of stretching the budget across hundreds of guests, couples can invest in the things that matter most to them. Whether that’s photography, food, entertainment, or an unforgettable honeymoon.

4. The day feels more personal.
Smaller weddings tend to feel less like an event and more like a celebration. You recognize every face in the room, and every guest is someone who truly matters to you.

5. More meaningful memories.
When you’re not rushing through the day trying to greet everyone, you have more time to take it all in. And those are usually the moments couples remember most.

Don’t get us wrong, large weddings can be incredible. But we’ve found that some of the most meaningful wedding days are the ones filled with the people who matter most.

The best way to beat the heat? Find a seat in the shade, grab a drink, and enjoy cocktail hour on the patio 🌿☀️

One of our favorite things about Wildflower Estate is that you don’t have to choose between an outdoor wedding and your guests’ comfort. Exchange vows outside, enjoy cocktail hour with charcuterie, lawn games, and drinks on the patio, then head inside the barn for dinner and dancing in the comfort of air conditioning.

It’s the best of both worlds and one of the many reasons couples love celebrating here 🤍
