This morning was every restaurant owner's nightmare. Today is one of the hardest days we've had in a long time.
We walked into work this morning and an entire fridge worth of food was gone. Ruined.
After staying up late last night prepping for today's lunch and evening dinner service, we walked into one of the worst surprises a restaurant can have: our brand new refrigerator failed overnight.
The hours of prep we lost hurt...but honestly, that's the least of it.
This wasn't a few vegetables or some leftovers.
Inside that fridge was our salmon, our ribs, our filet mignon, and so many other fresh ingredients that had to be thrown away. All gone. As you can imagine...we just lost an insane amount of $$$ 😔
It's heartbreaking for a small, family-owned business, but giving up isn't an option.
Right now, Chef Kathleen is back in the kitchen starting over from scratch. Chef Dan is out buying everything we need to replace what was lost. Our bartender Donnie got here at 8am and has been hauling out spoiled food and sanitizing everything so our kitchen stays safe. Our owner Peter has been bouncing between calling refrigeration companies, helping clean, helping shop, and trying to keep everything moving.
Safe to say...we're stressed. We're worried. We're exhausted.
But we're also determined. Lunch is still happening. Evening dining is still happening. We are going to work our tails off to make sure every meal that leaves our kitchen is something we're proud to serve.
If you've been thinking about stopping in, today would mean the world to us.
Bring your family to dinner. Order dessert. Tell a friend. Share this post. Your support today doesn't just help fill tables. It helps a local family-owned business recover from a really tough, unexpected hit.
Thank you for sticking with us through the good days and the really hard ones. We can't tell you how much it means.
Please say we'll see you tonight. ❤️ Our bar opens at 4, dinner is 4:30-9.
