As many of you know, we are navigating a significant transition at Southern Roots following my separation from my former husband. I originally didn’t feel the need to make a public statement about such a painful and private part of my life; however, circumstances have placed pressure upon me, my business, customers and employees, and I need to make some things clear. I wish life had turned out differently, but I thank God for this new chapter He has shown me—a life filled with God’s love, respect, and appreciation for my hard work of over 17 years in business.
It’s been almost 16 months since I walked away from the Southern Roots Mission location. I could not bring myself to walk into that building. The heartache I experienced in that building, betrayed as a woman was too great, and for my and my daughter’s emotional and mental well-being, my kids and I had to step away. The standard and atmosphere at the Mission location is now different from what you would expect from Southern Roots. The flower market at this location has been closed and now you know why. I am receiving so many messages daily from customers commenting on the changes they have noticed.
At Southern Roots, we have built our reputation by holding ourselves to the highest standards of quality and freshness. Recently I began receiving complaints about the quality of flowers being sold from the Mission location, which came as a surprise to me as I have not been selling flowers from that location. Without my knowledge or permission, my former husband has begun selling flowers from the Mission Location using Southern Roots branding under a Southern Pour banner stating “By Southern Roots.” For this reason, we have decided as a family to revoke Southern Pour’s access to our building.
I want to be very clear – these flowers have been sold without my knowledge or permission. Southern Roots is in no way associated with the Southern Pour brand or any flowers that have been sold at the Mission location in recent weeks.
The Mission location is being taken back by Southern Roots and restored to its original beauty. We will close for a few months to remodel & we will come back bigger and better with a beautiful space full of creativity, love, and hospitality.
💕Seasons end, and this is just a season that has lived its bloom. I am navigating this transition in the best way I can, I am doing right by my business, my kids, and my employees. Please be patient with us.
Your continued support means the world to me and my kids, and together we will keep the spirit of Southern Roots flourishing. Thank you for your understanding. We will continue bringing you the joy of flowers and good food for as long as my dear Lord Jesus Christ allows us with the Southern Roots brand you know and love.
Supported & loved by our community!
With humble hearts -
Your Southern Roots Family
