The ceremony marked an important milestone as each student received their nursing pin, symbolizing their readiness to provide compassionate, quality care and begin the next chapter of their healthcare careers.

Pike School of Art – Mississippi announces with deep sadness the passing of Calvin Phelps, our founder and Executive Director.

After being away from his native Pike County for many years, he returned in 2015 and launched this organization with the hope of transforming his community through the power of art.

An artist himself, he used his incredible arsenal of talents to teach, empower, enrich, unify and inspire. He conducted art programs for kids and enlisted financial support from major donors with equal skill and passion.

Calvin made a profound mark in his community, and we at Pike School of Art, while devastated by his loss, rest assured of his powerful legacy.
