As we finish celebrating our first year anniversary and officially go into year 2 of having the café, we truly want to say thank you to the town of McKenzie and take some time to thank a few others.

We opened this space just a little over two years into having our first store in TN. It was definitely a risk for us but we believed that it was worth taking the chance.

First off thank you to Ashley Bell for being willing to sell us her space. It was already a beautiful place before we got it and I appreciate her hearing out our plan for it and believing in us when all of this just sounded like an idea.

Thank you to Ryan Griffin for meeting with me my first day in Mckenzie and helping me feel welcome. Impressions like that matter more than we sometimes think and seeing someone else passionate about the town gave me the perspective I needed to push forward.

Thank you to Martin's - Coffee & Bakery for helping me get started with a new concept. I knew how to open a bookstore but opening a coffee shop was new territory to me.

Thank you to Stephanie Aubry McClerkin for managing the shop well and for really caring about the town. It was always my goal to find someone who had their roots set down here so that we could make sure that we always operate in a way that is best for Mckenzie. I really appreciate your support.

Thank you to my team The Happy Book Stack Murfreesboro who listed all of the books for our store. They were also listing all of the books for our Utah store which opened two days after the Mckenzie store (not my intentions and was definitely stressful lol). You guys made this possible.

Thano you to Cody Martinez for doing an awesome job renovating the space. It was definitely a fun project :)

Thank you to my wife Priscilla Jacobs who has supported me and our family as we have opened four stores in three years and had three kids in about that same time frame. Without your understanding of what we are trying to build for the community, we wouldn't have made it.

Lastly, thank you to the town of McKenzie again. I have so enjoyed getting to know you all. I live in Bell Buckle, a town of 500 and love smaller towns. Your square is a beautiful place and I am glad to get to be a part of it. I drive over three hours down and three hours back about once a week just to make sure we are continuing to build something awesome for you all.

We look forward to many more years together!
