McKinney's rich history comes alive in the Chophouse's relaxed yet sophisticated old South atmosphere as guests dine in deep leather booths under the soft glow of iron chandeliers surrounded by mahogany and exposed brick walls. Rick's Chophouse menu incorporates the best in local and home-grown ingredients to feature exquisitely prepared traditional dishes and delightfully unexpected culinary comb

inations. Entrées and specialty dished include seared salmon over a stuffed roasted poblano pepper, buttermilk pan fried chicken with bacon smashed redskin potatoes, chili lime grilled corn on the cob and of course, the classically crafted burger, filet, ribeye to name a few.

Downtown McKinney looked a little different 100 years ago.

These photos are from the early 1900s and 1920s era — back when the square was filled with Model Ts, dry goods stores, and dirt roads instead of weekend traffic and dinner reservations.

You may recognize one of these buildings as what is now Rick’s Chophouse, which has been part of Downtown McKinney for nearly 20 years. And the original Grand Hotel building was built in 1885, meaning you can still walk the same streets people did over a century ago. 🕰️✨

You can find these historic photos hanging along the hallway on your way to The Lounge. 🍸
