It is with great sadness that I say that Dino Vincent Grisanti passed away peacefully on Thursday September 19, 2024. He was many things but besides his 6 children the thing he was most proud of was being a chef. He understood that cooking is about nurturing people, that by doing so you are part of people’s lives in a significant way.
You connect with friends, family and strangers through food. Making something with hands that people can enjoy even for a fleeting moment. While his passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, the memories of his remarkable life will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

The family invites all who knew Dino to the funeral mass at Immaculate Conception Thursday September 26, 2024, at 10:30 AM
In lieu of flowers, Dino requested donations be made to The Carpenter Art Garden in Memphis or Rancho Obi Wan at RanchoObiwan.org

The day has come and tomorrow Saturday Jan 27th we will close our doors for good after breakfast and lunch service. We are overwhelmed with gratitude and support. Come by and grab breakfast/lunch( dine in or take out), buy a t-shirt or write in our guest book. We would love to see you guys! We are completely sold out of Take and Bake but will have Baby King Cakes tomorrow until they are gone ! We are baking our scratch made Boxcar Charlie biscuits for specials and our regular menu. The weather has prevented us from opening today. We planned on receiving a food delivery today so we could restock some of your favorites one more time. Hopefully the delivery can make it tomorrow and we will restock Chicken Newport, Gumbo and Meatloaf. We still have soups and gravy and other Take and Bake.

Dear Farm and Fig Friends,

As we look back on the remarkable journey of the past five years, we are deeply grateful for the steadfast support you’ve provided us. It is with a blend of gratitude and sadness that we announce that we have made the very difficult decision to close our doors at the end of January 2024.

In 2020 we decided to take the “leap of faith” and open a brick-and-mortar location in Cooper Young. Everyone thought we were crazy for opening a place in the middle of a pandemic. We had to be flexible and pivot many times. We loved being a small part of the Cooper-Young Community. Unfortunately, our chef and co-owner Dino was diagnosed with cancer this summer. Due to focusing on his health, we lack the capacity to devote the full attention that Farm and Fig truly deserves.

The Cooper-Young Community and our customers opened their arms to us, believed in our brand, and supported us every step of the way. We will be eternally grateful. Every good journey must come to a close, and the time has come for us to say our goodbyes. We have been working closely with our landlord to find a business that will take over the space and we are excited about the possibilities.

We will continue catering events through January and operating the shop through January 27th. Thank you for being a part of our journey.
