Hey everybody! Long time no see!
I’m crawling out of my cave, soaking in the vitamin D, and buckling down for another fun season at the Mendota Farmers Market. As I’m mixing and brewing, steeping and sipping, I’ve come to a realization that I think I’ve known deep down for a while. This year is going to be a bit different at the A&J Tea stall.
We are all aware of the situation with tariffs. And the economy, and the state of the country, the fear and uncertainty so many of us facing, I could go on in detail, but I don’t want to get into a political discussion today, I just want to relay to you the reality in my little corner right now.
The bottom line is, some of my ingredients have become too costly to keep in stock. I source the highest quality I can, and a lot of times those items come from outside this country. So for now, this is the game plan: I’ll keep my black, green, Earl Gray, and Happy Heart teas in stock as long as I can. As for my herbal blends, I’m going to try something a bit different. I’ll be mixing new blends using what I have on hand and what I can still obtain without having to raise the price on my blends. This means selection will vary week to week a lot more than it has in the past. I think (hope 🤞) that this will be as fun for you as it will for me. This is a fluid plan, I’m playing the wait and see game before I make long term decisions.
There will be samples to try before you buy, and I’ll still have iced tea ready for you each week I’m set up! I can’t wait to see all of your faces, and thank you as always for stopping by!
I have a few custom blends I’m working on, I’ll be in touch with those people in the next week or so.
Wishing you all the best, please have a great day and know the world is better with you in it!
