to the White Horse Inn circa 2010 before its restoration. Established in 1850 by Lorenzo Hoard, the White Horse Inn is the oldest building in Metamora and one of the oldest restaurants in Michigan.
Over the years, ownership passed through many hands—including Gilbert Olds, who purchased the Inn in 1917, and Frank Peters, who owned it through much of the Prohibition era and gave the Inn its enduring name. Since 1906, the property has changed ownership more than a dozen times, with each steward committed to preserving this foundational structure at the heart of the town.
