Football just got a lot more exciting (and it was already exciting).

This is not a joke. Starting October 26th, an animated Darth Vader will sit down with an NFL player from that night’s Monday Night Football game on SportsCenter+. Every week. ESPN hasn’t said how the players get chosen, which means somewhere there’s a man finding out he has been selected to be questioned by a Sith Lord on live television. It starts even sooner than that — from today, SportsCenter+ runs Star Wars “Hyperspace Highlights,” presenting Monday Night Football plays with a full Star Wars visual treatment. And it all builds to Star Wars Funday Football on February 14th, the real-time animated Super Bowl LXI set in the galaxy, with Anthony Daniels back as C-3PO. ESPN has the Super Bowl for the first time ever and Disney owns Lucasfilm, so this was always going to happen. Nobody expected it to look quite like this.

Which player do you want in that chair first?
