How does the saying go - the days are long but the years are shortโฆ We couldnโt agree more. This Saturday will mark NINE years since we opened our doors and started our communal experiment in craft b**r and local food. When we step back and look back across the years, we can't help but smile and be proud and grateful.
Longtable started as an idea in our heads, but has grown over nine years to be so much more than we could have imagined. We have stomped more frites, smoked more meats, tapped more b**rs and stocked more cans than we can even count. As in any life endeavor, there have been challenges, particularly over the past several years with evolving trends in the restaurant and b**r businesses, and escalating costs.
But you have embraced our long tables, supported our vision of local sourcing and giving back to the community, and helped shape what we have become. It has been such a privilege to celebrate your special occasions with you, see your families grow, and provide a welcoming space where you can temporarily leave daily challenges behind when you walk through our door. It has also been an honor to donate upwards of $42,000 to local Community Burger philanthropies on your behalf.
Many of you -- diners, farmers, cheesemakers, brewers and other partners -- have been with us from the very beginning, while some we have just met. Many have become close personal friends, some are connected mostly through email or social media. We have seen growth in our team over the years as well, not just in numbers, but in personal and professional development of those who have chosen to make a career with us, those who balance their work with us while going to school or raising families, and those who have moved on to pursue their dreams.
Whether you are a patron, a current or former team member, or a purveyor/partner, we are grateful beyond words, and hope you can celebrate with us this weekend! We will be offering $9 deals on cheese curds, goat cheese puffs, and pours of St. B Abt 12, sauvignon blanc and pinot noir.
