JOIN US at our Midtown Live Oak to grab a coffee before securing your front row spot for the Memorial Day parade, just steps away at 10am on May 25th! 🇺🇸☕️

TRAFFIC ALERT: You know summer is just around the corner when this annual traffic alert pops up in your feed! The American Legion 165 Memorial Day Parade returns to the streets of Midland on Monday, May 25 at 10 a.m. ❤️🤍💙

To accommodate this parade, the following streets will be temporarily closed from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Monday:
• Main Street from Revere to Rodd
• Rodd Street from Main to Nelson
• Ashman Street from Main to Larkin
• Revere Street from Main to Larkin
• Auburn Street from Main to Larkin
• Hubbard Street from Main to Larkin
• Ripley Street from Main to Larkin
• Currie Parkway from Main to Golfside
• St. Nicholas Street from Main to Larkin

Our friends at the Midland Police Department will open the intersections of Main & Jerome Streets and Rodd & Buttles Streets for 5 minutes every 15 minutes while the parade is underway to allow traffic to cross the parade route.

Parking will be prohibited on Main Street from Ashman to Rodd Street on Monday from 6 a.m. – 3 p.m. to accommodate the Memorial Day Parade.

FYI: There will be a sensory friendly zone from the intersection of Rodd & Grove Streets to Pine Street. This section will have no loud noises or flashing lights.

If anyone attending the parade receives an overabundance of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, kindly send them to your favorite Community Affairs Department!

Midland has something incredible coming its way this year at the Midland Center for the Arts. Check out a few of the highlights from recent Midland Daily News write-ups.

• The Midland Center for the Arts is undergoing a transformational $47 million renovation and reimagination project.

• The project is designed to make MCFTA one of the premier regional destinations for arts, science, history, creativity, and education in Michigan.

• The renovated museum experience is centered around the idea that “everyone is creative.”

• New immersive spaces include the Hall of Ideas, Hall of Innovations, and Hall of Materials.

• The redesign blends science, technology, engineering, art, and history into one interconnected experience.

• A new centralized entry and lobby will create a more open, modern, welcoming arrival experience.

• The renovation highlights and restores Alden B. Dow’s original architectural vision in new ways never previously visible.

• Visitors will be able to better experience the iconic concentric circle design elements throughout the museum.

• The project includes major accessibility improvements throughout the building.

• Expanded educational and studio spaces will increase hands on learning opportunities for all ages.

• The Center is partnering with nationally and internationally recognized exhibit and design firms to create immersive experiences.

• The transformed museum and facility are expected to attract 200,000 - 250,000 visitors annually.

• The renovation is expected to be completed in Q3 2027.

• The project is about far more than a building renovation. It is about creating a future focused community gathering place centered on creativity, connection, learning, and discovery.

Midland Center for the Arts is in its final stretch of renovations, with completion expected in mid-2027.

Happy Birthday to our sweet

What a gift you are to all of us at Live Oak.

You lead with compassion, curiosity, wisdom, and grace. You care deeply for people and are always the first to step in wherever there is a need. Your presence makes our teams stronger, kinder, and more connected.

Beyond your leadership, you are just an extraordinary human. A runner who keeps showing up race after race. An artist creating beautiful cyanotypes. An author and designer of a gratitude journal that reflects the way you see the world. And someone who stood on the TEDx stage at CMU with eloquence, clarity, and courage.

You inspire people not just by what you accomplish, but by the way you love, listen, encourage, and lead.

We are all so incredibly lucky that you are part of Live Oak and helping shape who we are becoming.

So loved. So respected. So celebrated today.

Happy Birthday, Kait 💛
