"Italian Roast yields great shots
I discovered Alpen Sierra on a visit to Lake Tahoe years ago, and was lucky enough to live near the roasting facility a few years later. I got to know the nice people who produce this coffee, and I was able to witness their unwavering commitment to quality. I have enjoyed every bean I’ve tried from Alpen Sierra. The flavor profile of the beans I buy is usually a full bodied, medium, or darker roast, with very delicate, yet distinct flavors. I recently upgraded my grinder with the goal of getting a fairly easily repeated, excellent espresso. I also added a temperature gauge to my heat exchanger espresso machine to further improve consistency. I was making mostly pour-overs before, so it was interesting to taste the difference in the same beans depending on grind, and brew style. I now get a really good espresso every morning, and have found that Alpen Sierra’s Italian Roast gets me a result that reminds me of a great espresso shot in Italy. I can’t ask for anything more than that. It makes going out for coffee a little less appealing, because my shots at home are usually better."

This chart serves as a visual lineage and genetic guide, mapping the relationships among cultivated coffee varieties across the globe.

I know I'm getting into the weeds here, but does something seem slightly off? According to (WCR's) official poster guide, the Roubi series is entirely composed of Robusta varieties. However, because the full poster weaves Arabica (C. arabica) and Robusta (C. canephora) networks close together, the designers placed the Roubi cluster in this specific spot purely for layout and spacing considerations rather than a direct genetic link to the neighboring Catimors.

Art in the everyday. While enjoying a cup of our organic Italian roast from my Animal Farm coffee cup, I looked down and caught an intense Sierra sunrise slicing through an open window. For a moment, light, shadow, stone, and a splash of blue coffee turned an ordinary scene into an unexpected composition. Beauty often hides in plain sight.
