A wonderful evening at the Uptown Market, where I had the opportunity to meet and speak with Mayor Jacob Frey about the future of Uptown and the importance of supporting the small businesses, artists, musicians, makers, and entrepreneurs who help bring neighborhoods to life.

What makes this market special isn’t just the incredible local vendors or the live music; it’s the sense of community. Every Thursday, neighbors, families, visitors, and business owners come together to celebrate creativity, connection, and the vibrant spirit that has always made Uptown unique.

Revitalizing a neighborhood doesn’t happen overnight. It happens one conversation, one small business, one local artist, and one community gathering at a time. Markets like this remind us that Uptown is still full of energy, passion, and possibility.

I’m proud that Momodosa is part of this growing movement and grateful to stand alongside so many talented vendors working hard to create something meaningful for our beloved coty of

Join us every Thursday from 4 PM–8 PM through September outside the Mosaic Arts Building, just behind the Lagoon Theater. Come shop local, enjoy great food, discover talented makers, listen to live music, and experience the community spirit that makes Uptown so special.

Come one, come all, let’s keep Uptown thriving together. ❤️ Uptown Farmers Market Uptown United

We respect customers who make it all the way to the parking lot before eating. This gentleman is not one of them. 😆

Fresh tandoor-baked naan has that effect.

Soft, fluffy, slightly charred, and baked fresh to order, it’s the perfect companion to our Chicken Tikka Masala, Navarattan Korma, Coconut Curry, Paalak Paneer, and more.

Some things are worth waiting for.

Naan isn’t one of them.

Summer in a glass! Our house-made Mango Lassi is blended with sweet mango purée, creamy yogurt, and a delicate touch of cardamom and clove. Cool, refreshing, and just the right balance of sweet and fragrant.

The perfect companion to a plate of hot momo; or simply a delicious way to beat the heat.

Available now at Momodosa.

Meet the snack that disappears faster than expected: Momodosa’s flaky, crispy samosas. Golden, handmade in-house, and filled with spiced potatoes and peas.

I personally love them with our signature habanero hot sauce but the mint cilantro chutney and sweet tangy tamarind chutney are equally delicious. Perfect with chai, perfect for sharing, perfect anytime.

Ben and Simon came all the way from Rochester for the weekend and spent the day at because Ben wanted his son to grow up with an adventurous palate and experience different cultures through food. ❤️

They tried our momo for the first time on Saturday and loved it so much that Simon said, “Let’s go there again for momo.” 😊

Ben also shared stories about spending six months in Nepal and the lifelong memories and friendships he made there during college. Conversations like these remind us that food is so much more than just food- it’s connection, curiosity, culture, and storytelling shared across generations.

Thank you Ben and Simon for stopping by Momodosa. We can’t wait to make more momo for you both again soon.

One of our wonderful patrons recently special ordered her favorite Lamb Sekuwa, a dish she used to love from the old Gorkha Palace days, and we were more than happy to make it for her. ❤️

At Momodosa, hospitality has always been about more than just serving food. It’s about listening to our patrons, honoring memories tied to a meal, and doing our best to make our patrons feel happy, seen, and satisfied.

We also offer catering and special orders for gatherings, parties, and events. For inquiries, please email us at [email protected]

Last year I had the great honour of contributing to Kitchens of Hope: Immigrants Share Stories of Resilience and Recipes From Home, where I shared my family’s mushroom and potato recipe. The book is available at local bookstores and online, and all proceeds benefit the nonprofit organization Advocates for Human Rights.

Yesterday, I gathered with fellow contributors Kate and Nadya, for a beautiful evening hosted by the wonderful writer Lee and the inspiring women of Les Dames d’Escoffier at Kate’s restaurant Oro by Nixta.

As an immigrant entrepreneur, I started with a dream of creating spaces where people could gather, connect, and feel at home through food. Throughout my journey, I’ve had the privilege of sharing part of my Nepali heritage here in Minnesota while building community through culture, storytelling, and hospitality.

This experience has taught me that success is not only measured by profit, but by the relationships we build and the sense of belonging we create for others. Grateful to be part of stories that bring people together through food, resilience, and hope. 🙏🏽
