Red Curry Duck Stew

This dish is called "Kees (keng)" in Hmong and is traditionally made with chicken or pork. ⁣

Our version features duck from Wild Acres MN cooked with aromatics of ginger, lemongrass, lime leaf, dried chilis, shallots, garlic, and coconut milk. We top the dish with sautéed Thai eggplant, young bamboo, and long beans, served with steamed rice. ⁣

It is best enjoyed with Hmong hot sauce or chili crisp and is available for both brunch and dinner.

Boiled bone-in beef is a classic dish at Hmong family gatherings. It's simmered for hours with lemongrass, ginger, and lime leaves until fork tender, then finished with green onions and cilantro. This comforting dish is simple, highlighting the natural flavor of the beef and fragrant herbs. ⁣

At the restaurant, we prepare it the same way but with beef short-ribs, served with a pickled mustard green salad alongside a bowl of broth and steamed rice. It's best enjoyed with a touch of Hmong hot sauce.

We’re deeply grateful to the The New York Times and NYT Cooking food critics for including Diane’s Place in their year in review.

To be named a highlight of the year in Minneapolis—through the lens of our Hmong food—is incredibly meaningful to our team. Dishes like our Hmong Chicken Soup, especially shared in moments like breakfast, reflect the care, memory, and tradition we try to honor every day.

Tejal Rao, ( on instagram), thank you for seeing us, and thank you to everyone who continues to sit at the table.

Is This the Perfect Mother’s Day Breakfast?

Delighted to speak with ’s , who was inspired by pandan flavors at Diane’s Place after a visit this spring.

Discover the perfect Mother’s Day breakfast with these delicious crepes infused with coconut and drizzled with pandan cream. A delightful nod to our signature flavors.

Thank you, Genevieve! Happy early Mother’s Day!
