FIKA is the American Swedish Institute's award-winning New Nordic inspired cafe. We were named "Best Lunch in Minnesota" by the Star Tribune, and our outdoor courtyard is one of the hidden gems of the Twin Cities' dining scene. With the Turnblad Mansion in full view, guests dining at FIKA can choose from an ever changing seasonal menu dedicated to our regional ingredients and Nordic traditions.

Salmon has always remained a staple dish on FIKA Cafe’s menu that changes with the seasons. This summer version features a pan-seared salmon filet on toasted house-made Danish rye with ricotta, bacon jam, beet purée, watercress, and chives. Bacon forward and delicious.

P.S. Happy hour is now all day on Thursdays! Stop in tomorrow afternoon and enjoy $2 off beer and cocktails and half-priced bottles of wine in one of the best patios in Minneapolis.

Our summer golden beet salad is made with roasted beets, pickled rhubarb, house-made citrus skyr (first time skyr is on FIKA Café’s menu!), frisée, pumpkin seed crunch, in a light white balsamic vinaigrette dressing.

There’s a new smörgås added to the menu! Tarragon chicken salad topped with mustard seeds and celery ribbons, served on toasted, buttered homemade brioche. Quickly becoming a fan favorite, you can even purchase the chicken salad by the container.

BIG NEWS! FIKA Café’s Swedish meatballs are now served with a rich brown gravy. Since opening in 2012, our famous meatballs have been paired with creamy mustard sauce, and now, gravy fans can finally rejoice.

Still loyal to the classic sauce? No worries, just ask your server for the creamy mustard sauce instead.

It’s patio season! FIKA Café welcomes the warm season with patio dining in ASI’s fenced-in courtyard. Enjoy a relaxed outdoor setting where kids can play with the toy cart while grown-ups enjoy their meal.
