⏬ From Jessica:
This might be a bit of a long post but please read. I first wanna start off by thanking everyone who has supported me in this cancer journey so far. What a crazy diagnosis to get
I can't even describe what it felt like to hear the words "you have cancer and it isn't curable". The thoughts, fear, sadness, worry, anger etc that goes through your mind is crazy. From the very beginning of the first day in the hospital my family had been there. They have showed up in a big way everyday and every step. Kenna VanOstrand has come to almost every appointment from day one due to our schedules being very similar at work. She was the first one to come to Seattle when the time came. I know I wasn't easy at times, but she still put up with me. She cooked for me, cleaned, drove me around to all my appointments and held my hand when I needed it most. She was there for the placement of my line and the important day of collection of my stem cells. Always there with a smile. Also thank you Kory VanOstrand for taking care of Kazik and being the best dad for him while Kenna was helping me. Amy Weber came over next. Her and Kenna were there to manage the chemo day and the penguin cold caps which allowed me to keep my hair through this intense chemotherapy. Amy saw me at my worst and helped me shower, watched me puke, took me to my appointments, cooked for me and would sit in a chair next to my bed while I was sick and miserable. Once Jeff Weber got to Seattle I unfortunately had to go to the hospital due to an infection. Amy and Jeff came everyday and sat in my room with me and watched TV and we're just there to keep me company. They each had to come back to Seattle at different times and took turns taking care of me after that. Jeff finished out my time in Seattle with me and helped pack everything up and drive me home when the time came. He also cooked the most amazing fresh salmon from Pike's place for us. Josh Cadieux came up after Amy and spent a week with me. I am so thankful he was there for spiritual and emotional support. He also cooked amazing meals and took me to all my appointments. He had to sit everyday in the room for 4 hours while I got hydration IV. Amber Cadieux thank you for giving me your husband for that week. Amber also applied for many grants and scholarships for cancer patients. She also called me often to check up on me and prayed for me daily. Nancy Cadieux my mama, I know you wanted to be there physically but due to a recent surgery at the time couldn't. That didn't stop her from being there as much as she could. She called often and prayed hard for me. She also would help my girls back home when they needed it. Gabrielle Nielsen also couldn't be there physically, but called often and checked up on me and worried and prayed everyday for me. Nicole Nielsen thank you for helping me get my car, although the transmission went out last month. She also was there to support me at my benefit night and called me often as well. Emily Cadieux I can't thank you enough for being there for Brilynn. You took care of her and our dogs and home while I was in Seattle for what seemed like forever. I missed you and your sister and my grandbabies so much. She called me almost daily and video chatted with me often so I could see her and my babies. Emily had been there to help me since I got home by cooking and cleaning as much as she can. Bri Cadieux my beautiful daughter, thank you for loving me even when I was tired and cranky. Also thank you for calling and checking on me while I was in Seattle. I know it wasn't easy being away from each other that long. Mike Daricek thank you for taking care of our daughter while I was in Seattle. You took Bri to school, bought her what she needed and was there to support her emotionally as well. You also checked on me often. Katelyn Weber and Jacob Weber for loving me and checking up on me as well. Ruth Goodwin thank you for calling me almost daily while I was in Seattle. She checked on me and prayed and smudged for me often. And finally, thank you to everyone at Romeo's. Craig and Delane have been there to support me not only financially, but also by praying for me daily and they saved my job that I love so much until I was able to come back. Thank you Richard for working your ass off to keep the place going while I was gone. He has been there in so many ways from day one. And also thank you to all my loyal customers who have also become like family to me through this and throughout the years.
And to end this post with the best possible news. My last bone marrow biopsy came back as no detectable cancer!!! We beat this!! For the time being, I am CANCER FREE!!!
