Let’s talk about the uncomfortable truth.

Su***de is one of the 10 leading causes of death in the U.S. Most people who die by su***de are men. More than half of Americans have been touched by a su***de loss.

Here’s the other uncomfortable truth: most of us don’t know what to say, so we say nothing. That silence is what we’re walking against.

Su***de is preventable. Asking someone directly, “Are you thinking about su***de?” does not put the idea in their head. It opens a door to help.

Pie season is here at The Rustic Muffin.

We’re now taking pre-orders for whole pies and cheesecakes, made from scratch in our Summerville kitchen:

Pecan Pie ($30): a classic Southern pecan filling in a flaky, hand-crimped crust.
Pumpkin Pie ($27): smooth, spiced pumpkin filling, a fall staple.
Dutch Apple Pie ($34): spiced apples under a thick, buttery crumb topping.
New York Cheesecake ($50): rich and creamy on a graham crust, available classic or topped with apple crumble and caramel drizzle.

Everything is made to order, so please give us at least 24 hours’ notice, more if possible.
