Buzzers, by now we all know a parasitic outbreak has swept across the country, cyclospora. Out of an abundance of caution, we’ve unfortunately decided to remove all raw produce that poses a hazard temporarily. Believe me, I don’t want to do this but in my heart it feels like the right course of action. So what does this mean?
- no salads
- no gazpacho (which means no soup until I make one)
- no fresh berries with the pancake puffs. I’m making a compote of blueberry and strawberry as current guidance states fruit and vegetables cooked to 185° kills the parasite
-no tomato, onion, oranges, grapes, or lemons
- fresh melon and pineapple will be the fruit for breakfast as they have thick rinds that can be washed

What doesn’t change? All of our baked goods! Berries are a known transmitter, however we bake our scones muffins, etc to a temperature well above the 185° threshold.

Sorry this is such a long post, and please know I wrestled with this, but it’s more important to me to keep everyone safe. And as soon as we have some solid answer and I can safely bring back all these items, I will! I really appreciate your grace and understanding ❤️🐝
