Sunday June 14th - The Blessing of the Fleet is a holiday in the commercial fishing community. It’s a day of food, drinks and fun with friends and family. Hundreds of boats parade passed the priest while he blesses each boat with holy water, regardless of your personal religious beliefs. For our fleet it’s a daunting reminder of the dangers of our industry. It’s a day of prayers for those headed out to sea and remembering those who never returned. So the next time you eat seafood, thank a fisherman…because the ocean is not forgiving.

An all-local music lineup from 6-9pm brings us into the most important day of the year... Sunday's Blessing of the Fleet. Not a lifestyle, but a way of life. F/V Rianda S. was built right here in Montauk on Navy Road in 1980 and has been hauling in fresh local USA seafood ever since.
