Salt Café We no longer serve dinner regularly, but we cook on special occasions, and do pop-up dinners.

We don't serve regularly scheduled dinners any longer, but we do special events and pop-ups. Through our new business, Farm-to-Table Consulting, we help people learn more about cooking and preserving local food, and also work with farmers and chefs on networking and business modeling.

Hey Salt Friends!

I'm starting a cooking advice column called "Dear Salt." And, since preparing food is about love, and pleasure, and joy, and health, and community, and economics, and seduction -- about life, really -- I wish for the queries to be wide ranging.

Who will ask the question that I answer in my first column, next Wednesday? It could be you! Send your burning questions (haha) to [email protected]. Hey, wonderful former Salt customers! I’ve started a new school for home cooks, Every Table VT and I’d love for you to “like” it!

I’ll be teaching classes that range from basic kitchen skill-building all the way up to deep dives into in-depth culinary topics (such as how to make ramen from scratch, for instance). I’ll be using recipes from Salt in many of my classes.

There will be plenty of public classes in the Burlington area, but I also teach private lessons in people’s homes, on pretty much any topic they desire.

And, I offer cooking “makeovers,” to help you move from the way you cook now to the way you wish to cook.

We'll be serving goose at Salt every weekend through the end of the year, and handing out samples at the Capital City Farmers' Market Montpelier Vermont, so you can try before you buy!
