As America marks 250 years, I've found myself reflecting on what has made this nation so special. The freedoms we often take for granted—the ability to speak our minds, worship freely, defend our families, pursue our dreams, and vote according to our convictions—were earned through tremendous sacrifice.

I know our country is deeply divided, and that's concerning. Too often we're encouraged to see each other as enemies instead of neighbors. Whether it comes from politics, media, entertainment, or social media, we should all be willing to question what we're told, think for ourselves, and seek the truth.

The upcoming midterm election isn't just about political parties—it's about the direction we want our country to take. Before casting your vote, look beyond the slogans and promises. Ask yourself which ideas best protect freedom, personal responsibility, opportunity, and the future you want to leave your children and grandchildren.

You may reach a different conclusion than I do, and that's your right. That's one of the blessings of living in America.

As for me, I'll continue to vote for the principles I believe preserve liberty and individual freedom. More than anything, I pray for wisdom for our leaders, grace toward one another, and God's protection over our nation. I especially pray that my grandchildren—and the generations that follow—will inherit a country where freedom is cherished, protected, and never taken for granted.

Happy 250th Birthday, America. May we never stop striving to be a nation worthy of the sacrifices that built it.
