Customer of the Week: Annastasia!

If you've spent any time at The Gatehouse, you've probably seen Annastasia settled in with her laptop, getting some work done or hanging with friends while enjoying one of her favorite orders. Join us next Sunday, July 26, from 4:30–6 PM for a guided 90-minute meditation at The Gatehouse. Whether you're feeling busy, overwhelmed, or simply looking for a quiet moment to reset, this welcoming session offers space to relax, reconnect, and recharge.

No meditation experience is needed. Every practice will be gently guided and accessible to all. Chairs will be provided, and you're welcome to bring a meditation cushion or anything else that helps you feel comfortable.

What happens when a work of art becomes the beginning of a story, a poem, or a memory?

Join writer and educator Julene Waffle for an inspiring afternoon of creative writing inspired by Rhea Nowak's exhibition currently on view at The Gatehouse. Through guided prompts and close observation, you'll explore how visual art can open unexpected paths into your own writing.

Nowak's layered prints investigate language, notation, rhythm, and the ways we make meaning from marks, symbols, landscapes, and memory. Drawing from printmaking, artist's books, and visual systems, her work invites viewers to slow down, look closely, and discover connections that unfold over time.

No writing experience is necessary—just curiosity, a willingness to look closely, and something to write with.

Whether you're a poet, storyteller, journal keeper, or simply looking for a new creative experience, this workshop offers a chance to slow down, reflect, and discover where art can take you.
