SCAM ALERT- we had a call to the shop today by a Scammer claiming to be a Morris Police Officer -Lt John Lockley and gave a 6 digit badge number. Informed my staff they were working with me (gave the employee my name) and proceeded to ask the employee for their cell number to discuss privately - they were asking about cash in the store and told them they would be coming by later to do a cash audit. Our employees called us from their phone during this conversation and we instructed them to hang up. We then called the real morris_police_department verified there was no such officer and they came out and took a report. Be careful out there- the digital age of information is enough to get information that can give validation for scammers! Thank you to our LEO’s of Morris. We appreciate you!
