Sometimes the Lord reminds US
TODAY IT WAS AND LOUD AND CLEAR.....
MARVIN WISE....
My Grandaddy was the embodidment of the American Dream and the reality of the 1930's Great Depression was the near collapse of society. There was no money. If it could be earn, the currency coukd not be found to issue payment. The Lord and Land was all a man had. He would use the word son to me as I knew that he did my Dad as a child. Because, man would have one Father in Heaven. You would have Father on this Earth. Marvin was silent, quiet, emotional, and did not like conflict. I was a child that wild, loud, extrovert, and different. I heard him and my Dad discuss my personality one time and how it matched some person that they knew and I had no clue in the past family that were not known to me as many do not know Marvin now
You learn God when you stranded and man's ability to pull together has been crippled to move life forward as he would explain to me. The Depression would be the catastrophe that would instill a behavior to have at hand all you need, build to insure the future, and solutions to all problems would be food at the table. They would not have jealousy or rivalries as their offspring. Marvin had me in class everyday of my childhood life. He would say stuff to me and I would not understand until the simple way and few words that were glued to my brain would become as the words of a Plato in Greece to relate to this time.He would talk to me sometimes as I talk to my employees, friends, or captive audience on things and not caring if the receiving audience understood it. They still preached it.
My Grandaddy was a man that I knew personally. All I thought that I could know, I did not. He would open a store because the Doc said Farming Life was done. He opened a store that had the first telephone and tv. The store became the backbone and made so much money to build the rest. I wondered in my life. I am really not like any family member on my Mother and Father's side. The fighter spirit comes from my Mom. The Marvin Wise that was my age and younger is so much similar as the man that I am today. When he used dynomite to create the drainage creek. OMG! I would have helped him blow it up. Saturday was boxing, wrestling, and people and the door was open. That is me...My Grandaddy had a trinity belief in success. Provide for the family( Be Valuable), Value in the Community is Core to Success, and build the foundation of business that will be the most innovative and invest in a future of the community.
The Sign Read Marvin Wise and Son in the days the store opened. I wish that I knew at 9 what I do today. Marvin was ending his ability to care for the store and in 1981. The store was closed because he gave it all and there was no one to carry the torch. It shoulld have never closed. It should have never never closed. No one could believe that the old store would be zoned or the industrial zoning. ...
