In honor of Memorial Day, we would like to share a brief history lesson on the namesakes of our Legion Post.

On September 15, 1919, the local American Legion Post in Mount Union was organized. It became known as Simpson-Hunt Post No. 107, named in honor of two young men from Mount Union who gave their lives in France during World War I: Private Roy Edgar Simpson and Private Charles James Hunt.

These were not just names chosen for a building or an organization. They were sons, brothers, neighbors, and soldiers - young men from our own community who answered the call to serve and never returned home.

More than a century later, their names are still carried by Simpson-Hunt Post 107.

This Memorial Day, we remember Private Roy Edgar Simpson and Private Charles James Hunt — two young men from Mount Union whose service, sacrifice, and legacy remain part of who we are.

We remember them.
We honor them.
We will never forget them.

Today, we pause to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and sacrifice gave us the freedoms we enjoy every single day.

Please take a moment today to honor those who never made it home and to keep their families in your thoughts.

In honor of Military Appreciation Month, we want to thank all veterans and active-duty military members for their service and sacrifice! ❤️🤍💙

As a small token of our appreciation, we are offering a free meal to all our members who served or still on active military duty on Wednesday, May 27th at the StoneHouse Lounge!
