You might wonder why I have posted a dodgy old B&W pic. Besides being the last day of winter, some dates you just never forget. 31 August 1974 I bought my first fibreglass board a custom made 6'4" G&S single fin from the old Robert Connely surf shop 164 Campbell Pde Bondi for the sum of $100. Paid by the Sunday paper run. The girls well on a cold spring day that year a photographer from the Sun Herald borrowed the board for a shot on Bondi. This was about 7 years before the thruster was invented. Seems like yesterday, the ocean has been a constant friend everyday of those 40 years.
