Happy barbecue memory!

Throwback to ten years ago in Texas, when my Cajun neighbor Jason built a pit for an old school pig cook: the Cochon de Lait in Louisiana!
We scored, rubbed, and smoked that thing all night, and the meat was ready for brunch. Minus the two zillion flies, it was a blast! 😂

The air is crisp, it's football season, and there's nothing like the scent and feel of getting a woodfire going while the sun comes up on Saturday morning!!
We are OPEN from 11am til 7 or sold out and we've got all of our usual favorites, along with
🍑 🍑 PEACH BOURBON PULLED PORK 🍑 🍑
Also, we'll be away next weekend for an autumn vacation: come and get your barbecue today! ☕️

I had some good peach preserves, so I decided to roll out a very popular special one more time before Fall moves us onto other flavors.

SHOUT OUT to my teammate, friend, hardworking local mom, and Mulvane rock star Cali who shares the space with me as Huckleberry Baked Goods!
It's her third anniversary in business today, and if you didn't already know, this lady has a gift.
Cinnamon rolls, pies, cupcakes, special variations on classic stuff, you name it: I don't have a sweet tooth and I'm not a bakery guy, but get SOMETHING of hers every week and I'm always tempted to get more.
Just another person and artisan we're lucky to have with us downtown! Pictured is her apple pie on special today. My wife and I special order a whole one from Cali each year for Christmas Eve, and it's now a tradition to obliterate the entire thing in one sitting.
So good!

UPDATE: SOLD!
Friends!! Closing early yesterday means I've got a whole extra brisket wrapped up and untouched in the fridge. It's a bummer for me, but might not be for you, 😂.
It's about 8 pounds and I'll let 'er go for 160. That's about 35% off normal price. Message or comment if you're interested!

HOT HONEY BBQ PORK BELLY BURNT ENDS

I used a cowboy candy rub on pork belly and glazed it with a honey barbecue and hot honey mix.
Sweet with a touch of heat. 🙂
Open til 2pm so I can get out of here and officiate my old student's wedding!
