As many may know, the previous operators of the Cafe ceased operation and closed in January. The property, including the fixtures, equipment, etc. was returned to the owners. The name, City Cafe, which is trademarked, was never transferred and is still owned by us. During the time since closing, we have explored various options and considered different avenues to bring about the best result we could find.
While we know that no solution will make everyone happy, we hope everyone will understand that we must proceed in a manner which we deem most productive. We have not been ignoring the numerous comments and appreciate the sincere expressions of love and hope for the Cafe. We wanted to wait until we had a situation which was a complete surprise to us, as it was to many of you, under control. Many expressed an interest in trying to keep the Cafe going and asked what could be done to accomplish that. Our hope has always been that this could happen, but it is not feasible for us to reopen ourselves.
Therefore, we have employed Ms. Priscilla Smith and the firm she represents, to represent us in leasing the premises at 113 E. Main St. She can be contacted at (615) 953-9592. She would be happy to speak with anyone about the property and any plans for it.
We will try to update with any new information to this page. Please know that anyone claiming to represent this property or the business known as City Cafe other than Priscilla Smith or her firm is not being truthful and we will take all necessary steps to protect it from such people. Anyone asking for support of, investment in, or claiming any knowledge of the reopening or continued operation of the City Cafe is not being truthful and should be reported.
