Not for one second during the past 9 years did I ever consider that I’d be clicking off that open sign, flipping the pig and locking the door of the shop for the last time.....
Your friends and family tell you that something you do is the “best they ever had”.. so we begged, borrowed and squealed our Butts off in an effort to plot, finance, build and hone an artisanal craft in the food and beverage industry... in the process we gathered a team of unbelievable people into our Pitcrew... eventually each received their nickname or term of endearment as being a card carrying member of our family... Well there’s still that pesky profit thing... very simply, I can no longer afford to supplement the business shortages with personal finances... Great Food & Service isn’t always enough to pay crew, vendors and the apocalyptic number of other bills... fines, licenses ... quite frankly my wife well deserves canonization for her efforts in keeping this thing afloat all these years. Our amazing crew has been kept apprised of every new info as it is known to us. My wife and I met with many staff this evening to further spell out the closing. We have made arrangements to supplement two weeks pay on top of their last checks.

Riverside Barbeque Company will serve it’s last guest on this coming Saturday night December 14th
We have a former pitcrew’s amazing band that evening and hope our crew will be showered in tips and praise for their amazing efforts... It is also my hope to see our myriad of supporters in the coming days leading up to our closing. I cannot thank our litany of folks from all walks of life and geography’s and hope you can make it in to see us....
While I’ve always attested that we have the best Pitcrew in the business and that it is through the collective efforts of the entire crew by which all things at Riverside BBQ happen... I alone take responsibility for its failures and now will attempt to brave the often cruel and ugly social media backlash... before hitting ENTER know that there is no pamphlet for gutting your dreams.
