THE FINISH LINE...
After peddling too hard for five successful years, we’ve decided it’s time to hit the brakes. The pace, demands and staffing limitations made it increasingly difficult to provide our patrons with the dining experience we desired and led us to reevaluate our work/life balance. From the beginning, we wanted to create an eatery where residents and visitors (and their dogs) could gather to enjoy food, drinks and live music outdoors in the Village...and we are proud to have accomplished that mission.
We cannot thank all of you enough for choosing to visit Brown Bike for one or many visits over the years. It has been our pleasure to serve everyone—from Nashville, Columbus and Bloomington to Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Louisville as well visitors from nearly every state and numerous countries—and develop friendships along the way. If you ever find yourself craving our Italian Beef sandwich or flatbread pizzas, these recipes are served daily just an hour north at our 12 year-old sister restaurant, Fresco Italian Cafe on the Canal in Downtown Indianapolis.
A special thanks to our founding father, literally our Dad, our Mom, JaMila and our good friends Kim and John who shared our vision to convert a small office building on a big lot—at the corner of Van Buren and Gould Streets—into a fun seasonal patio destination. We truly were a hands-on family business in every sense of the term.
Our departure has been made much easier by our excitement for a new business that will be opening soon at this location. We are pleased to pass the baton to our new friends and local residents Carrie and Marc. They will be launching several creative concepts unique to the area that we know will be popular—watch for their announcements.
Thanks again for a GREAT ride!
Doug and Jeff
