New Albany has seen many restaurants come and go over the years and there is only one that has stood the taste test of time, Latham’s Hamburger Inn, since 1928. In the late 1970s Latham's moved across the street to it's present location which was once an alley. Latham's is New Albany's only restaurant to have survived

the "taste" (test) of time! It is proof that good clean Southern hospitality, an ice cold Coca-Cola, fifteen bar stools, a wall of tried and true proverbs, a friendly face and a burger fried in a cast iron skillet will surely keep the patrons coming back!

We are getting back on track with our Memory Verse this week. For those who are new to us here, our church is participating in a churchwide Bible Reading laid out by our Pastor. I just simply re-post our Memory Verse here each week so my friends and customers can follow along. We would love to have any of you come visit at Ingomar Baptist Church. ✝️

This week’s memory verse is 1 Samuel 16:7.
You may recite the verse to Kim or me on Friday for a little happy. Let’s just have fun and fellowship together. Please use whichever translation of the Bible you prefer.
The real reward is in reading God’s word. The “happies” are just for fun.

“But the LORD said to Samuel, 'Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God does not see as man sees, since man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart'".
1 Samuel 16:7 NASD

-Human Limitation vs. Divine Omniscience: Humans are naturally superficial. We judge capabilities, character, and worth by what we can see physically (wealth, beauty, height, status). God is not swayed by these metrics because He possesses complete knowledge of a person's inner reality.
-The Definition of the "Heart": In ancient Hebrew culture, the "heart" (lebab) did not just represent emotions. It referred to the center of a person's intellect, will, thoughts, motives, and moral character. God is evaluating the core alignment of a person's mind and soul.
-A Lesson in Leadership: The verse serves as a critique of external qualifications. Saul looked like a king but lacked the character to sustain it. David did not look like a traditional warrior or king, but he possessed a "heart after God's own heart" (1 Samuel 13:14).

These sweet sisters traveled from Arkansas to eat with us yesterday. Due to sickness, we were closed so they grabbed a room in Tupelo and came back today! How awesome is that!!! I just loved meeting them and I hope I can visit more with them next time they travel to NA to dine with us! Thank you sweet ladies so much!! ❤️❤️❤️
