We often have guests leave belongings behind after their stay. After making every effort to contact the guest and holding items for 30 days, any unclaimed items are either discarded or donated.

In the past, we’ve typically donated items to Savers, but I’m looking to see if anyone knows of local shelters, organizations, or individuals in need who could benefit from these donations.

The items are often clothing, blankets, towels, and other everyday essentials. If a room was smoked in, we discard the items. However, when items are clean, in good condition, and appear well cared for, we’d much rather see them go to someone who can use them than throw them away.

Housekeeping Supervisor!

The Whaler Inn & Suites is seeking a dedicated, hardworking, and dependable Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team!

This has the potential to be a full-time position with a hands-on leadership role. We are looking for someone who can help lead our housekeeping team to success while ensuring our rooms and facilities consistently meet the high standards our guests expect.

Responsibilities include:
✔ Cleaning guest rooms as needed
✔ Laundry duties
✔ Inspecting rooms for quality and cleanliness
✔ Training and supporting housekeeping staff
✔ Maintaining housekeeping standards and procedures
✔ Monitoring inventory and proper use of cleaning products
✔ Keeping housekeeping and storage areas clean and organized

Position Overview:
• During the week, the supervisor assists with room cleaning based on occupancy and checkout volume.
• On weekends, the supervisor focuses on stripping checkout rooms, inspecting cleaned rooms, and ensuring all rooms are guest-ready before being released.
• Housekeeping experience is required

Compensation:
