🇺🇸 DID YOU KNOW?🇺🇸

Hoeppner-Horn Bros. VFW Post 5716 (Hoeppner-Horn Bros VFW Post 5716) has been part of this community for 80 YEARS.

The idea began in November 1945, when two local veterans decided New Berlin should have a VFW Post of its own.

By January 1946, VFW Post 5716 (Hoeppner-Horn Bros VFW Post 5716) was officially chartered with 40 veterans from New Berlin, Muskego, Big Bend and Vernon.

And they weren't only thinking about veterans.

From the beginning, the mission included supporting the community through volunteer work...something that remains important to the Post today.

A lot has changed in 80 years.

But the heart of the mission hasn't.

🇺🇸 Supporting veterans. Serving our community. Bringing people together. 🇺🇸

We're pretty proud to be part of New Berlin's history...and even more excited about what's still ahead.

👻 IT'S GOING TO BE A LITTLE GHOSTLY AROUND HERE...

Scuttlebutts Bar and VFW Post 5716 (Hoeppner-Horn Bros VFW Post 5716) will be CLOSED Friday, October 30 & Saturday, October 31.

Apparently even our goblins, ghosts and bartenders need a little time to celebrate Halloween. 🎃😂

We'll be back after the haunting is over, the cobwebs are cleared and everyone has recovered from their candy hangovers.

Have a safe and Happy Halloween from all of us at Scuttlebutts Bar and the VFW Post 5716! 👻🎃

And remember...

If you hear something going bump in the night at the Post, we're closed. Don't ask us. 😂

A quick heads-up for our Monday Music Bingo crew:

Scuttlebutts Bar and Hoeppner-Horn Bros VFW Post 5716 will be CLOSED Monday, October 26.

That means there will be NO Music Bingo Monday evening.

We know many of you have made Monday nights at Scuttlebutts part of your routine, so we wanted to make sure you had plenty of notice before heading our way.

What a weekend at Scuttlebutts and the VFW Post 5716 (Hoeppner-Horn Bros VFW Post 5716)

From Friday night's Brewers excitement, Halloween costumes and Floor It to another great Saturday night with Pop Culture we had a whole lot happening around here.

But the best part?

YOU showed up.

Every time you walk through our doors, bring a friend, share one of our posts or tell someone that Scuttlebutts is open to the public, you're helping us build something pretty special here.

And ultimately, your support helps us continue doing what matters most: supporting our veterans and our community. 🇺🇸

WHAT A NIGHT! ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to Scuttlebutts and VFW Post 5716 last night!

Between Brewers baseball, Halloween, Floor It, costumes and a whole lot of fun, you guys made it one heck of a Friday night.

We love seeing new faces walking through the doors right alongside the familiar ones. That's what this place is all about.

And we're not quite done with the weekend yet...

🎸 Pop Culture is at Scuttlebutts TONIGHT!

So rest up, grab some friends and come back for another night at the Post. 😂
