Founded in 1983 in the East Village, Cafe Mogador was both an early pioneer in the NYC restaurant world and a downtown cultural hub. Serving up her signature Moroccan-inspired cuisine, founder Rivka embraced and celebrated the creative neighborhood she called home while pushing c

ulinary boundaries. Throughout three decades and the addition of a second location in Williamsburg, Cafe Mogador gained tremendous recognition and solidified its place as a neighborhood institution and culinary destination. From expertly braised tagines and house-made bread, to an award-winning brunch served alongside some of the best people-watching in the city, the restaurant continues to proudly grow with the neighborhoods it's helped create. The same founding family still owns and operates both locations today.

To kick off the holiday season, we collaborated with fellow East Village native and ceramicist to create a small batch of mugs which we’ll be selling at our Manhattan location to benefit and the important work they do in our community, providing free meals to those in need. Stop by to pick one up and support a great cause!

For nearly 40 years, Trinity’s Services and Food for the Homeless (SAFH) has worked to address food insecurity in our community and meet the immediate needs of our neighbors. Through SAFH’s daily free lunch and food pantry programs, as well its pioneering College Student Pantry, well over 200,000 meals per year are provided to our neighbors, completely free.
