Under our stewardship, these managed restaurants have won countless awards and success, including Johnathan Sundstrom, executive chef of Earth & Ocean (W Seattle), one of Food & Wine's Ten Best New Chefs in 2001; Steelhead Grill (Pittsburgh City Center Marriott), Best New Restaurant in Pittsburgh by Esquire in 1997; chef Jamie Leeds of 15 ria (Washington Terrace Hotel), Rising Star Chef of the Year by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (2004). We also believe in giving something back to the communities we serve. Our restaurants participate in countless special events and benefits while supporting numerous charity organizations. Myriad generates its own charity events as well. After the World Trade Center tragedy, our former wine director Daniel Johnnes organized a special dinner that raised close to $1,000,000 for the Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund. Our International Taste of Tennis gala drew 400 people in 2003, benefiting Citymeals-on-Wheels. Drew 's ongoing involvement includes serving on the boards of Madison Square Garden's Garden of Dreams Foundation, Citymeals-on-Wheels, and DIFFA. Drew has been named Humanitarian of the Year (2000) by both the James Beard Foundation and Distinguished Restaurants of North America.
