"I did PR work for 12 years after grad school, then the company closed after the recession. After that, I freelanced for hedge funds, and would often work out of coffee shops. While working, I'd watch the counter, watch the barista - their movements and how they'd make it. I said to myself, “Why am I not doing this? This is what I really like doing.” I had a vision and didn't want to wait until I was retired. That wasn't really who I was. I was outgoing, social, and I hated corporate life. What I’ve learned? How hard it is to consistently serve the right product over and over.

I'm very friendly with my baristas - I'm hands on and know what's going on. I cover their shifts. I'm always there."

Serving awesome, strong stumptown coffee - the baristas are really friendly and accommodating. Never any attitude or judgement especially when it comes to my specific extra almond milk needs hehe....
