Well you can't get upset over something you have no control over. This is what I keep telling myself. Yesterday at approximately 11:50 am the universe decided to give us a power surge. Transformer failure (apparently they are more than meets the eye) Everything in Bier One, the brewery and my house went nuts. Some lights in the pub that blew I will fix today. Unfortunately the brewery took most of the hit. My brew panel was smoking. Multiple VFD's fried and possibly other things that I haven't diagnosed yet. So Luke won't be able to brew beer for a while, possibly weeks. My compressor is not kicking on which makes it impossible to clean kegs for kegging beer. The house is a little chilly cause my heat pump is not working. Hopefully I can possibly fix it today but not holding my breath. That's most of the bad news which is pretty sh*tty. Here is the good news Coolers are working, beer will be cold and the food will be hot! And we'll be open as usual today. So suck on that universe!

Staff at the Newport Public Library are excited to announce that February is National Library Lovers’ Month! National Library Lovers' Month occurs annually in February, and reminds us about all of the resources available in libraries, how they can help enrich your life, how libraries make efforts to improve the lives of those who visit libraries. For library workers, it’s a time to be appreciated and celebrate!

As part of our efforts to celebrate, the Newport Public Library will host Library Lovers’ Month: Valentine Themed Trivia TODAY, February 13 from 5:30-7:30 pm at Bier One, 255 SW 9th Street Newport, OR 97365. Put together a team or join a team or play trivia on your own. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Library Lover’s Month: Valentine Themed Trivia is free, open to the public and proudly sponsored by the Newport Public Library Foundation, the Newport Public Library, and Bier One. This event is free, open to the public and all ages are welcome. Donations are welcome, but not required.
