As the mom of a graduating senior this year, I’ve spent a lot of time lately thinking about the funny little lessons school tries to teach us.
Turns out “be careful who you choose for your group project” really was serious life prep and not just angsty teen drama.
After a sudden and unexpected change behind the scenes, The Sunday Table will not be continuing in its current form. I won’t pretend I’m not disappointed. Opening our doors, our kitchen, and our community to a new idea is something I take seriously, and I believe commitments deserve follow-through once people have gathered around them.
But if there’s one thing I’ve learned building The Supper Club over the last several years, it’s that consistency matters more than excitement, and character reveals itself most clearly when things get difficult.
Right now, I’m taking a short pause to process the abruptness of it all and decide what, if anything, this concept looks like moving forward. I don’t want to rush to fill the silence just for the sake of appearances. Some things deserve a moment of pause before the next step becomes clear. Big decisions that affect many people deserve thoughtful consideration ….not reactive ones.
To everyone who shared posts, planned visits, invited friends, and showed genuine enthusiasm for this big idea, thank you. Your support was real, and it mattered, so much! I am so proud of how my people showed up fast to love on Will and his family. You guys really are something truly special.
As for us? We’ll keep going. We always do. 🧡
I don’t fall down, I pivot, and this change does not affect The Supper Club in anyway! It only leaves room for new opportunity.
Good food will still come out of this kitchen. We’ll continue building things with people who understand that community only works when everyone shows up to carry the weight together.
