The town was reportedly named for Nauphlet Goodwin, but the name Nauphlet was misspelled as Norphlet by the Postal Department when the town's post office was created in 1891. Norphlet was actually the third name selected for the small settlement: its post office was first designated Haymos and then Jesse before becoming Norphlet, all in the same year.

Building for sale!!!I would like to reach out to anyone interested in purchasing a new establishment, and let me emphasize, we were open 7 years, through pandemics, inflation, and no sinking our life savings into a business.
Everyone has said, if we'd been in Eldorado .... I'll never believe that'd make a difference in our situation. I was out with a sick parent that passed away and we did all we could but we made it through some really hard times in NORPHLET.
Our schools exchange students and school events all year long there is traffic going all day, EVEN IN LITTLE OLD NORPHLET. There is a calling and an amazing spot for someone looking to buy a new adventure, because I'd never trade ours.
If this speaks to you please reach out to Debra Scoggins Williams. The customers are there, the following is there, the ability is there! I'm not even a professional anything and those people never make it, but we did. We did prove good food and good people can do more than anyone else thinks they can!

Down to our last amazing customer, last burgers on the grill... I cannot tell you enough how much this has meant to me.
