We believe summer break should be about adventure, enjoying the sunshine, and making memories, not wondering where your next meal is coming from. For lots of kids in the Snoqualmie Valley, the end of the school year also means the end of reliable access to breakfast and lunch. Last summer, around 1,300 children visited the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank for meals. In 2025, 32% of visitors to the food bank were under the age of 18 making up roughly 1 out of every 3 visitors.
We want to make sure no kid goes hungry in our valley this summer, so South Fork is teaming up with the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank for the second year in a row to rally support for Meals for the Break; a program dedicated to making sure local kids have access to nutrition focused food options all summer long. Last year it took an estimated $9,000 to keep the program running over the summer. This year, we're aiming to raise at least $4,000 of that and we’d love an extra helping hand from you.
We're kicking things off with live music and good people. Join us on May 1st for a night with Hot Damn Scandal and Lark Hounds, put on by Morgan Henley Presents. Come out, have a great time, and be part of doing right by our community. The fundraiser runs all through May, so whether you're joining us on the 1st or looking for another way to contribute, there's a place for you in this.
